The technique for making these beads has been around for over a century! People of the Victorian era used to make large ones for use as portiers (bead curtains) in their homes. In the early 1900's my grandfather began making small ones for necklaces and sold many. The craft of bead making was passed down through my family and now I, too, am making and selling these unique, colorful neckaces.
Many people have been amazed when they were told that they are made of paper! The beads are hardened and protected with two coats of tough, clear, high gloss finish.
Please note that the photos do a poor job of representing these beads. They are colorful, high gloss, and no two beads are alike.
